Workplace Noise Assessment
Exposure to high levels of workplace noise may cause irreparable damage to the hearing of employees and may lead to legal action against your company.
The Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005 are designed to protect people in their place of work from the risk of hearing damage and set new exposure action and limit levels aimed at reducing the risk to as low as reasonably practicable.
The assessment must be carried out by a competent person, and be adequate for the purpose of identifying which employees are exposed, and provide enough information about the noise for the employer to decide which action is needed.
Atmosphere Environmental provide professional cost-effective assessments carried out by competent individuals who will assess the level of risk and identify measures necessary to comply with the Control of Noise at Work Regulations (2005). Our noise assessment findings are detailed in a comprehensive and detailed report.
Atmosphere Environmental undertake workplace assessments for both hand arm vibration (HAV) and whole body vibration (WBV) to assist employers to comply with the Control of Vibration at Work Regulations (2005). Our assessments will evaluate the exposure of your employees to vibration and provide cost effective advice to manage the risk.
Hand Arm Vibration
Use of manually operated electric and air tools may result in exposure to excessive hand-arm vibration and lead to symptoms including vibration white finger. These symptoms can be prevented by introducing a range of control measures including the introduction of alternative production processes, use of vibration damped tools, modifying working practises and ensuring operators receive appropriate information, instruction and training.
Whole body vibration
Regular long term whole body vibration exposure is associated with back pain along with other factors such as poor posture and heavy lifting.
Whole body vibration risks are frequently associated with the use of vehicles which are driven regularly for much of the work period such as fork lift trucks or heavy plant and machinery.
