COSHH Risk Assessment
The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) 2002 (regulation 6) places a duty on employers to carry out a full risk assessment of exposure to all hazardous workplace chemicals and substances. These substances are found in nearly all workplace environments and may produce immediate health effects as well as debilitating longer term conditions.
The COSHH regulations require a systematic approach to be adopted where hazards are identified and necessary precautions determined to prevent or minimise exposure. A comprehensive COSHH assessment is the starting point in any exposure control management programme. Benefits of the assessment may include improved working environments and improved employee relations. This may also lead to reduced operational costs by changing the way hazardous chemicals are used in the workplace.
Atmosphere Environmentals qualified consultants have experience in carrying out these type of COSHH assessments and will be able to fully evaluate a your particular workplace environment and give appropriate advise on what actions required to manage the risk and comply with the COSHH regulations.
